The league provides a jersey and MLB hat for baseball and t-ball.
Players are required to bring their own glove. It should be easy for the player to squeeze. This is the only league requirement.
These are not required, but most players also add:
1.
Bat - our coaches recommend that the bat shouldn't be any longer than from the ground to their hip bone when the player puts it against their leg. ALL bats must have "USA" on it. T-Ball bats usually say "T-Ball."
2. Batting helmet - should be snug but not tight. Individual helmets are optional, but will help prevent the spread of germs.
3.
Baseball Pants - some are elastic and some use a belt (player preference). Your coach may request matching color pants, so leave the tags on if you purchase during the sale weekend and swap colors later, or keep them for practices.
4.
Baseball Socks - they come up over the knee.
Some of the newer, thinner soccer socks are similar.
5.
Baseball C-guard - SIAA Baseball Director Ryan Laney recommends adding this for safety. It attaches to the helmet and helps protect the player's cheek, jaw, and chin.
Hopefully, these suggestions help our newest families. We're happy you'll be playing with us this season.
